My primary painting medium, allowing me to build layers, explore color, and capture both subtle emotions and bold expressions.
Used to create depth and dimension, inviting viewers to experience the artwork beyond the visual and connect with its physical presence.
A process that embraces movement and spontaneity, creating organic forms and unique compositions that can never be exactly repeated.
Applied to enhance depth, light, and color, giving selected works a luminous finish and a lasting sense of permanence.
A protective finishing layer that enriches color, unifies surface sheen, and helps preserve the artwork for years to come.
I am Syeda Mithy, an interior designer by profession and an abstract artist by passion.
The urge to create has been with me since childhood, although for many years it was seen simply as a hobby. Determined to explore my creative potential, I left Bangladesh to pursue my studies in London.
In 2018, I completed a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, a pivotal experience that awakened my artistic consciousness. Visiting museums and galleries introduced me to new ways of seeing the world and deepened my appreciation for art—not only as a visual language, but as a means of expressing emotion, memory, and the complexities of human experience. I became fascinated by how artists translate their thoughts and feelings into something tangible, creating connections through a single canvas.
My creative journey continued at the University of the Arts London, where I studied Interior Design. While my academic path focused on spatial design, my curiosity for artistic expression continued to grow. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I returned to Bangladesh and unexpectedly found myself with time to experiment. It was then that I discovered fluid art.
What drew me to fluid art was its unpredictability. Unlike many artistic disciplines governed by rules and control, fluid art felt liberating. There was no pressure, no rules—just curiosity and a strange urge to create. Through the flow of paint, I found a visual language that reflected freedom itself.
Although I later returned to my studies and professional commitments, art remained quietly present in my life. It was only after experiencing a period of profound emotional exhaustion that I found my way back to the canvas with renewed purpose. Creating became more than a practice—it became a necessity. Since then, I have dedicated myself to exploring the relationship between fluidity, texture, and emotion.
I paint what moves me: fleeting moments, quiet thoughts, chaotic feelings, and fragments of memory. Not to explain them, but to invite others in—to feel something, to connect. My inspiration comes from the colours and textures of nature, from emotions that are difficult to put into words, and from the beauty hidden within ordinary moments.
I never planned to build a business around my art. I simply started sharing what I was creating and working on. What began as a personal journey became a way of connecting with people. Through my work, I hope to create spaces for reflection, emotion, and presence.
Today, I create original paintings designed to bring warmth, depth, and character into the spaces they inhabit. Every painting begins with curiosity and ends with connection. For me, art is not simply about what appears on the canvas, but about what it awakens within us.
I want my work to invite people into their own inner world—to connect without explanation, to pause, reflect, and feel. There is something extraordinary about the way a piece of canvas can make us feel seen, understood, or comforted without saying a single word.
Through fluidity, texture, and abstraction, I continue to explore that possibility, one painting at a time.
I’m so grateful to everyone who follows along with me—your support means everything. I can’t wait to see where this path takes us next as we continue to explore and grow together through art.
All my love,
Syeda Mithy
